Western Sydney Wanderers FC Youth
Western Sydney Wanderers FC Youth are the youth/reserve team of the Hyundai A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers FC. Founded in 2012 and having previously compete in the now defunct National Youth League (NYL,) the team is currently playing in the NPL NSW2, with 2016 being the team’s debut season. Along with Sydney FC Youth and Central Coast Mariners Academy, they are one of three youth teams directly associated with the senior team of their A-League club.
Though the team’s main home ground is Blacktown International Sportspark in Rooty Hill, the Wanderers do play various home games across Western Sydney in suburbs such as Mt Druitt (Poppadentta Park,) Fairfield (Marconi Stadium) and St Mary’s (Cook Park, site of the senior club’s debut in preseason in 2012 in a friendly against Nepean FC.) Despite not registering any silverware thus yet (its highest achievement being runners up in the NYL in 2013/14) but with many of its players already having played for the first team such as Mario Shadow, Liam Youlley and Daniel Alessi, there is no doubt that this arm of the Western Sydney Wanderers will continue to grow strength from strength, much like the senior team.
