North Shore Mariners
North Shore Mariners FC (formerly Northbridge FC), are a football club based in Northbridge, a suburb of the North Shore of Sydney. The club was founded in 1952 and plays its matches out of Northbridge Oval. The secondary name comes out of the partnership the club has with A-League side Central Coast Mariners since 2014, which allows players to be loaned out to Northbridge FC, while allowing promising players access trials with the Mariners.
The club currently competes in NPL NSW2, having first entered NSW’s tiered systems in 2011 in the (now outdated) NSW State League 1 (equivalency of NPL NSW3.) Northbridge won said Premiership in 2013 but lost the subsequent grand final to Balmain. Having strong seasons hereon after, the club fell short of promotion to NPL NSW2 until 2016, as the club saw promotion on the back of a strong 2015 season (18 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss.)
Northbridge holds the claim of the biggest club in Australia by participation numbers, with over 2,300 registered players, making their devotion to youth development and participation formidable in the footballing landscape.
