Mt Druitt Town Rangers
Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC are a football club based in the Western Sydney suburb of Mt Druitt. The Rangers were formed in 1970 by two Scottish immigrants who, one was a Rangers FC fan and the other a Celtic FC fan, and were founding members of the Blacktown Districts Soccer Football Association. Currently playing NPL NSW2, the aim of the Rangers is to develop and nurture young talents for football fans and players in the surrounding areas. The club also works closely with the local refugee and East African communities in providing pathways for promising boys and girls, and has even fielded at fustal team in the past.
Mt Druitt Town Rangers play out of Poppondetta Park, which is the sometimes home ground for fellow NPL 2 team Western Sydney Wanderers Youth. Despite not having any honours to the club’s name, the club stands steadfast in its opportunities for boys and girls to play the world game and take immense pride in its history in the area.
