FFA Cup Round of 32 Matchday 4 Preview

We come to the final 4 games of the round of 32 in the FFA Cup, with these last 4 games consisting of 2 A-League vs A-League fixtures and 2 NPL vs NPL fixtures.

Hume City v Bentleigh Greens – 7.30pm – Televised

8th place Hume City host 3rd placed Bentleigh Greens tonight in an all VIC NPL showdown. This is both teams 3rd attempt at the cup, with both of them featuring in last years competition.

Funnily enough last year both teams were knocked out by Melbourne Victory, and each share the best run by the two teams. Bentleigh made the semi finals in the 2014 cup before losing 3-0 to Perth Glory whilst Hume City lost 3-0 to Victory in the semi final in 2015.

Can the winning team do one better this year and reach the grand final?

Brisbane Roar v Melbourne Victory – 7.30pm

The first of the two A-League show downs tonight and it is a match up that will have many fans drooling. Having had some great matches over the years the in the A-League, the two clubs face off in the round of 32 in what should be match of the round.

The question will be, will the new imports play and which teams marquees will prove to be the difference? And can Victory be the first team to win the cup twice?

Sydney United 58 v FNQ Heat – 7.30pm

Last year’s NPL winners SU58 will be taking another crack at the FFA Cup this year as they host FNQ Heat.

Both teams are hopeful of entering a B-League and eventually the A-League. Tonight’s game will be a good example of what both teams are capable of.

Adelaide United v Newcastle Jets – 7.30pm

The last all A-League game of the round of 32 and probably the least appealing.

The loser of this match will probably lose in the round ot 16 whether they come up against an NPL side or an A-League side.
