FFA Cup Matchday 4 Review – NSW Teams

Sydney United 58 Fc have crushed National Premier League Queensland side Far North Queensland Heat FC 7-2 on game day 3 of the Round of 32 in the FFA Cup. After missing out on the 2017 NPL NSW finals series, the side from Edensor Park cruised through after conceding a 23 minute opener, before hitting back with goals from Glen Trifiro (24′) and Yutaro Shin (32′) and going into the break 2 – 1 up.

Almost immediately after the restart, United turned on the style with an onslaught on the Heat goal, punishing the less fancied team from North Queensland again and again. Goals from Shin almost from the restart and then wave after wave of devastating attack saw goals from Payne (47′) Nikas (57′ penalty,) Shin (70′) and Vranic (82′) saw United progress through with releative ease. The only consolation was 84th minute penalty put away by FNQ Heat by Beverley, which rounded the score to 7-2, the biggest win for United in the FFA Cup Round of 32.

They will face Heidelberg United FC in the Round of 16 with the dates to be confirmed soon. Sydney United will join Hakoah Sydney City East FC, Blacktown City FC, Bankstown Berries and APIA Liechhardt Tigers FC in the Round of 16, a record number of participants for NPL NSW.
