NPL 1
It’s official, Parramatta FC are mathematically relegated and will be moving down to NPL 2 for next season. Not that anything has really changed in the last 10 rounds though.
Blacktown City are close to being crowned the overall best club, with a 34 point lead over Rockdale City Suns with 63 points left to claim. APIA Leichhardt are still in the mix of claiming that crown too, only behind by 37 points.
NPL 2
Marconi hold a 50 point lead over Northern Tigers, and with 105 points left up for grabs, the Tigers can still potentially claim the top spot.
In fact, Wanderers and Central Coast also have the potential to move up the standings and qualify for promotion, however it is unlikely that Marconi will slip up that horrendously this late into the season.
Bankstown City are now a total of 50 points behind Bankstown Berries who have had a resurgent 2nd half of the season in their 1st grade side, meaning that Lions are only 2-3 rounds from being mathematically relegated.
NPL 3
With draws in the U18s and U20s between Rydalmere and Fraser Park, along with Rydalmere winning in the 1st grade encounter, even assuming Fraser Park win all 3 grades against Granville the Lions will have a 2 point lead going into the final 6 rounds.
Granville and Balmain battled it out on the weekend, and with the 1st grade sides drawing there is still only a 3 point gap. With Granville performing better in the more important 1st grade, they are looking the better of the two sides in terms of avoiding relegation.
State League
We finally have a new leader! Camden Tigers have emerged as front runners in the promotion race and still have a round in hand. They hold a 9 point lead over Nepean, and have the potential to move 30 points clear at the top after their catch up games.
It is looking likely that the final round may be the deciding round for promotion, with Camden hosting Nepean on the 13th of August. If all goes to the team’s plans, the winner of that game may win their way into NPL 3.
