Club Championship Overview – August Week 1
- Updated: August 10, 2017

NPL 1
At the conclusion of the penultimate round, Blacktown City are 8 points ahead of APIA, meaning that it all comes down to the final day to determine who the best club overall in NSW is.
NPL 2
With 63 points left on offer, Marconi is 8 points away from securing what we have known for months now, and that is that they are on their way up to NPL 1.
On the other end of the scale, Bankstown City Lions have also confirmed what we have known for months, that they will be joining NPL 3 from next season.
NPL 3
There is still so much to play for in the NPL 3 competition with the margin between Rydalmere and Fraser Park now 17 points after the Fraser Park 18s drew in their catch up game. This means that if the 20s and 1st grade win their catch up games, the margin will be 1 point to Fraser Park with 4 rounds remaining.
Down the other end, Western NSW Mariners, Stanmore Hawks, Inter Lions, Balmain Tigers and Granville Rage are still battling for survival. Granville Rage is sitting bottom with 98 points trailing 22 points behind Balmain currently. Although in football, anything can happen.
State League
Coming into the final round of the season, Camden Tigers are out in front of Nepean by 11 points. Both teams face off this weekend and Ron Dine reserve in a battle for promotion.
To put it simply, Nepean need to win first grade and get a result in the other two grades to steal promotion.
If Camden wins or draws in 1st grade, they are the ones that will be playing in NPL 3 next season.
